Two International Finance Centre

Description
Two International Finance Centre, completed in 2003, is attached to the second phase of the ifc mall. This 415 m tall building is currently Hong Kong's tallest, is quoted as having 88 storeys to qualify as being extremely auspicious in Chinese culture, and 22 high-ceiling trading floors. In actual fact, however, it is short of the magic number, due to the fact that the "taboo floors" like 14th and 24th etc., are omitted as being inauspicious - 14 sounds like "definitely fatal" and 24 like "Easily fatal" in Cantonese. The highrise is designed to accommodate financial firms. For example, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is located at the 55th floor. It is equipped with advanced telecommunications, raised floors for flexible cabling management, and nearly column-free floor plans. The building expects to accommodate up to 15,000 people. It is one of relatively few buildings in the world equipped with double-deck elevators.

One Biscayne Tower

Description
One Biscayne Tower is an office skyscraper in downtown Miami, Florida. It is located on the eastern edge of the Central Business District, on South Biscayne Boulevard. It is comprised completely of Class A office space. The building contains 39 floors and is 492 ft (150 m) tall, to the roof. The 200-foot (61 m) antenna on top of the building raises its total height, including antenna, to nearly 700 feet (213 m). When built in 1972, it was the tallest building in Miami and Florida, and held this status until the Miami Center was topped off in 1981. The building, although relatively short compared to many of the newer skyscrapers in Miami, remains a symbol of the city. It appears on most postcards of the skyline and remains a signature building of Miami, due to its age.

Stephen P. Clark Center

Wachovia Financial Center

Description
Wachovia Financial Center is an office skyscraper in Miami, Florida. It was known as the Southeast Bank Center (from 1984-1992), the First Union Financial Center (from 1992-2003), and now as the Wachovia Financial Center. When it opened on July 16, 1984, it was the tallest building south of New York City and east of the Mississippi River, taking away the title of the tallest building in the southeastern U.S. from the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel, in Atlanta, Georgia. It remained the tallest building in the southeastern U.S. until 1987, when it was surpassed by One Atlantic Center in Atlanta, and the tallest in Florida until October 1, 2003, when it was surpassed by the Four Seasons Hotel And Tower, also in Miami. It remains the tallest office tower in Florida at a height of 764 feet (233 meters).

Miami Center

Description
The Miami Center is a skyscraper in downtown Miami, Florida. Although not even close to being one of that city's tallest buildings, it is a symbol of early downtown and was Miami's tallest building for a period of less than two years. Built in 1983, it is older compared with most of the taller buildings in Miami, which have been built in the last decade. In addition, the Miami Center is immediately adjacent to Bayfront Park, and is unobstructed when looking at the skyline from Miami Beach to the east. The building is 484 ft (148 m) tall and has 34 floors. It is located on South Biscayne Boulevard and Southeast 3rd Street, to the east of the Central Business District and is adjacent to the Wachovia Financial Center and the Hotel Intercontinental. The Bayfront Park Metro Station is also located close to the building. The tower consists of 100% office space.

10 West Elm

Description
Reminiscent of a Parisian mid-rise, 10 West Elm fits in well in a neighborhood of people who would appreciate such a heritage. The building brightens up a potentially dark corner with its orange façade, and hints of a regal lineage with its green roof, which is similar to those of the noble roofs of Europe where the copper has turned green with age.

Description
The catholic parish church St. Georg was build in the years 1729 to 1731 by plans of Franz Joseph Roth. It replaces older churches at this location. An interesting detail in this church is the statue of the archangel St. Michael near the lectern. It wears a bomb splinter in his hand instead of his sword, which fell victem to a bomb attack in1945. The chirch is surrounded by the former graveyard, which is now abandoned. Along the graveyard's outer walls are the new places of several tombstones that have survived the bomb attack.

Kabul International Airport

Description

Following the United States attack on Afghanistan after the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York, the airport reopened. At first, it was only for the US military and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), a NATO-led peacekeeping force. After the removal of UN sanctions, in early 2002, it was finally allowed to be used for civilian airlines. The US military and ISAF (with the Romanian Air Force a lead contributor) run the airport and provide security with the Afghan authorities.
