Buildings uploaded for March 10, 2008

Here are the latest uploads to Google’s Cities in Development section of the 3D Warehouse since my last post.



Tel Aviv, Israel



David Intercontinental Hotel



The David Intercontinental hotel is one of the biggest and most prestigious hotels in Israel. It was built in 1999 and was designed by Feigin Architects. The hotel has 521 rooms and 38 suites. It is located in the southern part of the seashore of Tel-Aviv.



Discount Tower



The Discount Tower is a 30 floors tower, located in the central business district of Tel Aviv. It was built between 2003 to 2006. The building serves as the headquaters of the Discount bank, while some of the floors are rented for other purpuses.



Shanghai, China



Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower



Located at the tip of Lujiazui in the Pudong district, by the side of Huangpu River, opposite The Bund of Shanghai. It was designed by Jia Huan Cheng. Construction began in 1991 and the tower was completed in 1995. At 468 m (1,535 feet) high, it is the tallest tower in Asia, and the third tallest tower in the world.

EWU Fraternity - Philena Building



Built in 1929. An excellent example of Romanesque architecture. The Philena is one of the earliest apartment buildings to be built in Cheney and has been the home of numerous faculty members of the college. It was designed by Spokane architects Archibald Rigg and Roland Vantyne to provide a home for college faculty members. It was built by prominent local businessman and soon-to-be Washington State Governor Clarence D. Martin (son of F.M. Martin, banker and owner of the Martin Grain & Milling Company), who named the building for his mother, Philena. It is currently owned by a student fraternal organization.
